Italy - Landslides and floods, update (ECHO 28 Nov 2022)

Following the mudflow event that affected Casamicciola municipality (northern Ischia Island) in the early morning (UTC) of 26 November, the humanitarian impact has increased.
The Italian Civil Protection reports, as of 27 November, seven fatalities, five persons still missing and 230 evacuated people across the Island. In addition, according to ANSA as of 28 November, five injured people, 11 rescued people and 30 damaged houses were reported. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
The Copernicus Emergency Management Service, EMS was activated in rapid mapping mode () in the morning of 26 November (a few hours after the main landslide event), to support the damage assessment in the Casamicciola municipality.
Over the next 24 hours, drier condition is forecast over Naples province, including the already affected Ischia Island.
